The dual capacitors help the machine during start-up on surfaces with lots of friction, like carpeting. Whereas the triple planetary gears, located in the transmission, power the brush or bonnet over those high-friction surfaces with ease. This is the brand most janitor supply stores sell. Another said hard to control, not true. It works exactly how all these style buffers work. If you've never used one yes they take some practice, all of them do. So take it from someone who's used these things for over 20 years this one works great and is a good size for small and big jobs.
